Students and Parents,
Welcome to North Carolina Math IB (Formerly Common Core Math IB). We are looking forward to working with each of you during the coming school year. North Carolina Math IB is the second half of the North Carolina Math I course and is offered to students who successfully completed Common Core Math IA. The course is designed to continue to cover topics from North Carolina's Standard Course of Study for Math I. We will cover course topics that include Exponent Rules, Polynomials, Factoring, Quadratic Functions, Exponential Functions, Sequences, and Statistics. We will be sending home a form the first day of school requesting contact information from both students and parents. Please be sure to fill this form out completely (and legibly), as current contact information is a must in keeping the lines of communication between us open. We will send out email updates fairly regularly to keep both parents and students up to date on happenings within the class (especially with regards to unit tests). In addition to the email updates, this website is an excellent tool to use in keeping up with homework assignments and test dates. It recommended that you check this site daily (evening is best) for additional announcements. If at any time you have any questions or concerns regarding the course, please feel free to email your/your child's teacher. We look forward to a positive year for all of us! Best Regards, The NC Math IB Team (Cineus, Hill, Loughidge, Lowery, and Simonsen) Exam Review Materials can be found under the HOMEWORK tab!
